Foundrymax offers the Ø80×20mm alumina ceramic foam filter with 30 PPI pore density. This round filter is designed for foundries processing aluminium and other non-ferrous alloys where melt cleanliness and surface quality are important considerations.

Alumina (Al₂O₃) is rated to 1200°C, making it suitable for aluminium, zinc, and copper-based alloy casting. It is chemically stable in contact with these melts, does not react with or contaminate the alloy, and provides reliable performance at a cost-effective price point compared to zirconia-based alternatives.

The filter measures 80mm in diameter with a 20mm thickness. This size offers practical filtration area for medium-section castings while remaining compatible with most standard sprue wells and pouring cups. The round shape fits neatly into circular gating components, simplifying placement and reducing the risk of bypass.

The 30 PPI fine-pore structure captures smaller inclusions and oxides that coarser grades would miss. This is particularly valuable for thin-wall castings, decorative components, and parts requiring pressure tightness or good surface finish after machining. The open-cell reticulated structure traps oxides and refractory particles through mechanical sieving and surface adhesion, while maintaining good flow characteristics through the filter.
