Foundrymax 125×125×30mm / 10PPI Zirconia Foam Filter – Engineered for High‑Alloy and Stainless Steel Casting
High‑alloy and stainless steels present a unique filtration challenge. Their high pouring temperatures (1550°C–1650°C) exceed the reliable operating limit of silicon carbide, which softens and erodes under these conditions. Foundrymax’s 125×125×30mm zirconia ceramic foam filter is designed specifically for these demanding applications.
Material That Matches the Application
Zirconia (ZrO₂) is rated to 1700°C, maintaining its strength and dimensional stability at steel pouring temperatures. It resists chemical attack from aggressive slags and does not contaminate the melt—critical for preserving alloy chemistry and achieving consistent mechanical properties.
This footprint offers substantially larger filtration area than 100×100, yet integrates into standard gating layouts. Suitable for medium‑to‑large castings where both melt volume and cleanliness are critical.
Why Foundrymax?
As a direct manufacturer, we produce this size with consistent pore uniformity and dimensional precision. Alternative PPI grades (10, 20, 30) and thickness variations available upon request.
