The 20″ × 20″ format is a widely used standard size in the aluminium industry–. It provides substantial filtration area for high‑throughput production, making it suitable for:

• Aluminium ingot, billet, and slab continuous casting

• Aluminium sheet and plate production

• Aluminium foil and can stock manufacturing

• High‑volume aluminium foundry operations

Cotton Gasket – Preventing Melt Bypass

This filter plate is supplied with a cotton gasket (fibre cotton material) around the edges. The gasket sits between the filter plate and the filter box, creating a seal that prevents molten aluminium from bypassing the filter around the sides. This ensures that all melt passes through the filtration media, maximising filtration efficiency.

Three gasket options are typically available:

• Fibre paper gasket

• Fibre cotton gasket (this product)

• Expanded cotton gasket – premium option with superior sealing performance

Material Performance

Manufactured from high‑purity alumina (Al₂O₃), the filter plate is rated to 1100–1200°C, providing the thermal stability required for continuous casting operations. It offers excellent resistance to attack and corrosion from molten aluminium, does not react with or contaminate the alloy, and maintains structural integrity throughout the filtration process.

Available pore densities range from 10 to 60 PPI to suit different alloy types and quality requirements.
