Foundrymax offers the 50×50×15mm silicon carbide ceramic foam filter, a square filter designed for foundries processing cast iron, ductile iron, aluminium, and copper alloys.

Rated to 1500°C, silicon carbide (SiC) is the industry standard for iron and non‑ferrous casting. It withstands thermal shock, resists slag attack, and remains chemically stable in contact with molten metal.

Available in 10–30 PPI

Choose the pore density that matches your casting requirements:

  • 10 PPI – coarse (~2.5 mm) for high flow and larger castings

  • 15 PPI – medium‑coarse for balanced performance

  • 20 PPI – medium (~1.2–1.5 mm) for general purpose

  • 30 PPI – fine (~0.8–1.0 mm) for precision and surface quality

The open‑cell reticulated structure traps slag, oxides, and refractory particles through mechanical sieving and surface adhesion, delivering cleaner metal to the mould cavity. This reduces scrap rates, improves mechanical properties, and enhances surface finish.
