Foundrymax offers the Ø90×20mm alumina ceramic foam filter with 20 PPI pore density. This round filter is designed for foundries processing aluminium and other non‑ferrous alloys, providing a balanced combination of flow rate and filtration efficiency.
Alumina (Al₂O₃) is rated to 1200°C, making it suitable for aluminium, zinc, and copper‑based alloy casting. It is chemically stable in contact with these melts, does not react with or contaminate the alloy, and delivers reliable performance at a cost‑effective price point.
The filter measures 90mm in diameter with a 20mm thickness. The 90mm format provides generous filtration area for a range of casting sizes, while remaining compatible with most standard sprue wells and pouring cups. The round shape simplifies placement and ensures good fit in circular gating components. The pore structure effectively traps oxides, dross, and refractory particles while maintaining stable flow characteristics. The open‑cell reticulated structure (porosity 80–90%) captures inclusions through mechanical sieving and surface adhesion.
