When the Pour Gets Bigger, So Should Your Filter
Foundrymax’s Ø150×25mm zirconia foam filter is designed for one thing: keeping up with high‑volume steel production. If your work involves larger sprue wells, longer pour times, or simply moving more metal per shift, this filter provides the filtration capacity to match.
A 150mm disc offers more than double the filtration area of a 100mm disc. That matters when you’re pouring larger components or running extended production campaigns. More area means better flow distribution, reduced back‑pressure, and less risk of premature clogging. It is a practical choice for foundries scaling up from smaller formats without redesigning their entire gating system.
Material That Handles the Heat
Zirconia is rated to 1700°C, holding up through the 1550–1650°C temperatures required for carbon steels, alloys, and stainless grades. Unlike silicon carbide, it does not soften, erode, or introduce contamination at these temperatures. =
The pore structure delivers good flow rates while capturing the slag, oxides, and refractory particles that cause defects. The open‑cell network maintains stable metal distribution across the full disc surface.
