Foundrymax’s Ø120×30mm zirconia foam filter gives you a choice—not a compromise. Available in 10, 20, and 30 PPI, this round disc allows you to select the exact pore density your steel grade and casting geometry require, while keeping the same 120mm footprint across your gating system.

Which PPI Should You Choose?

  • 10 PPI – Coarse pores. High flow, low back‑pressure. Recommended for larger castings, heavy sections, and grades where fill speed is the priority—carbon steels, structural alloys, and thick‑wall components.

  • 20 PPI – Medium pores. Balanced flow and filtration. Suitable for most alloy and stainless steel applications where both cleanliness and throughput matter.

  • 30 PPI – Finer pores. Enhanced inclusion capture. Ideal for thinner sections, investment castings, and critical components requiring superior surface finish and pressure tightness—such as valve bodies, turbine parts, and aerospace‑grade steel.

All three PPI grades are manufactured from the same high‑purity zirconia, rated to 1700°C. The material maintains its integrity at steel pouring temperatures (1550–1650°C), resists slag attack, and does not contaminate the melt.
