This round disc filter delivers reliable high‑temperature performance in a practical, compact format.

Zirconia (ZrO₂) is the established filter material for steel and high‑alloy casting, rated to 1700°C. It maintains structural integrity at steel pouring temperatures (typically 1550°C–1650°C). Zirconia resists erosion from aggressive slags and does not react with or contaminate the melt – essential for maintaining alloy chemistry and achieving consistent mechanical properties. 

The 50mm diameter round format provides practical filtration coverage for a range of castings, fitting neatly into sprue wells, pouring cups, and runner systems. The 22mm thickness offers robust mechanical strength for pouring conditions.

Pore density options are available to suit different application needs:

  • 10 PPI – Coarse pore structure (~2.5 mm) that maximises melt flow, making it suitable for larger or heavier castings where maintaining fill rate is the priority while still capturing coarse slag and refractory particles.

  • 20 PPI – Finer pore structure (~1.2–1.5 mm) that captures smaller inclusions, delivering higher melt cleanliness. This grade is recommended for applications requiring superior surface finish, pressure tightness, or critical service performance.
